Willow Creek Self Contained Farm Stay Accommodation and Strawberry, Raspberry and Avocado farm

StrawberryEvery season we need a lot of people to harvest our strawberry and raspberry crop and avocados. When we are really busy, we need between 30 and 40 people a day. We employ both local people and overseas and Australian travellers and backpackers.

The season starts in October and finishes in May with the busiest months being from November to March. Generally the work is six days a week, but if we are really busy there can be Sunday work too. The picking is done in the morning and early afternoon and the fruit is packed from mid-morning and in the afternoon until the work is finished, which is normally around 4 pm.

Picking strawberries is quite hard work and most people suffer from a sore back for the first week or so. If you are reasonably fit you shouldn't have too much trouble after that. Packing is done sitting at tables next to a conveyor belt and is easier work but you do need nimble fingers!
